Product description

The ZK-J corner protector is a vertical protector made of aluminum and Zikonyl®, designed for shock absorption at corridor corners. Its construction makes it one of the most robust models in the range, capable of withstanding the continuous impacts of wheelchairs, stretchers, and trolleys in hospital and high-traffic environments.

The aluminum is fixed to the wall using wall plugs and screws or neutral silicone, depending on the characteristics of the substrate. The visible face of the Zikonyl® is textured, which helps to conceal scratches that may occur with daily use, maintaining a well-maintained appearance over time.

Equipped with top and bottom caps, the ZK-J adapts to walls with or without skirting boards, offering a complete and versatile solution for any type of 90° rounded corner.

ZK-J Cross Section

Aluminum profile anchored to the wall with wall plugs and screws or neutral silicone. The Zikonyl® is mounted on the aluminum once it is fixed. If there is a baseboard, only one top cap is installed. Without a baseboard, both top and bottom caps are installed to prevent the cladding from slipping. Minimum installation: 40 mm.

Assembly guide

Step-by-step installation

Preparing the wall:

Walls must be finished and painted before installation. No prior reinforcement is required.

Aluminum cutting and drilling

Cut and drill the two aluminum profiles to the required dimensions. Spacing between fixings: 400–600 mm per piece.

Fixing the aluminum

Anchor each aluminum piece to the wall with a wall plug and screw. The anchors of one piece should never be directly opposite those of the opposite piece to avoid weakening the wall.

Assembling the end-caps

Mount the caps on the aluminum before attaching it to the wall. With baseboard: One top cap. Without baseboard: Top and bottom caps to secure the Zikonyl®.

Zikonyl® Cut

Cut the Zikonyl® profile 2 mm longer than the aluminum to ensure a proper fit and a clean finish at the ends.

Zikonyl® Assembly

Mount the Zikonyl® profile onto the already anchored aluminum. The system requires no special tools or drilling into the visible cladding.
