Product description

The ZK-G is the Zikonyl® expansion joint cover, specifically designed to cover and protect expansion joints in the walls of hospitals, care homes and public buildings, maintaining the aesthetic continuity of the cladding without restricting the structural movement of the building.

The cover consists of two Zikonyl® BS1d0 profiles: a base, which is fixed to only one of the two sides of the wall using neutral silicone or fixing plugs, and a textured facing which clips onto the base once it is anchored. This two-piece construction is the key to the product: as it is fixed on one side only, the facing can move freely when the joint expands or contracts, without cracking or coming away.

The textured facing of Zikonyl® conceals scratches caused by day-to-day use and blends in visually with the rest of the profiles and panels in the installation. Available in the full standard range of Zikonyl® colours.

Preparing the wall:

Walls must be finished and painted before installation. No prior reinforcement is required.

Cutting the profiles

Cut both profiles (base and visible face) to the required length. Both pieces are cut to the same size..

Base Fixing

Secure the base to only one of the two walls, using neutral silicone or a wall plug. The other end of the base should remain free on the opposite wall to allow for movement..

Clip the visible face

Once the base is anchored, clip the textured face onto it. The clipping system requires no special tools and allows the face to be removed to access the joint if necessary.
