Product description

The ZK-R is a very particular model within the Zikonyl® corner bead range: It is a variable-angle corner bead composed of two independent pieces made of aluminum and Zikonyl®. This construction allows it to adapt to corners that are not exactly 90°, which is common in the renovation of old buildings or in corners with slight construction imperfections.

The two aluminum profiles are fixed to the wall independently using wall plugs and screws, taking care that the anchors on both sides are never directly opposite each other to avoid weakening the wall. The Zikonyl® clips onto both aluminum profiles once anchored, without the need for drilling.

Its textured surface conceals scratches from daily use, just like the rest of the range. However, unlike the ZK-S and ZK-X models, the ZK-R does not have an end cap: its variable angle makes it impossible to manufacture a specific cap. For this reason, to prevent dirt accumulation at the ends of the profile, it is not recommended to install the ZK-R at a height lower than 2 meters.

Assembly guide

Step-by-step installation

Preparing the wall:

Walls must be finished and painted before installation. No prior reinforcement is required.

Aluminum cutting and drilling

Cut and drill the two aluminum profiles to the required dimensions. Spacing between fixings: 400–600 mm per piece.

Fixing the aluminum

Anchor each aluminum piece to the wall with a wall plug and screw. The anchors of one piece should never be directly opposite those of the opposite piece to avoid weakening the wall.

Angle adjustment

With both aluminum pieces secured, verify that the resulting angle fits the corner correctly. The independence of the two pieces allows for this fine adjustment.

Zikonyl® Cut

Cut the Zikonyl® profile to the same length as the aluminum. The ZK-R does not include a cap.

Clip the Zikonyl®

Clip the Zikonyl® profile onto both already anchored aluminum pieces. The clipping system requires no special tools or drilling into the cladding.
